Isn't it true? Art inspires art. Long before I painted, the sweet illustrations of Bessie Pease Gutmann’s children held my heart. So did Norman Rockwell’s everyday stories. They showed me that ordinary moments — like a child playing quietly with a pup or a small truck — are endearing to most people’s hearts.
When I paint a child with a dachshund or kids playing with bubbles on a deck, that same warm affection is there. One piece of art quietly leads to another. And with human emotions, there’s nothing new under the sun.
