Commission an Original Oil Painting
Some photographs remind us of a moment. Others remind us of a person.
Those are the photographs I love to paint.
I look for photographs where people forget the camera and simply become themselves.
I don't paint traditional portraits.
I'm especially drawn to photographs of children caught naturally in the middle of being themselves. Playing, exploring, concentrating, laughing, wandering, or simply unaware of the camera.
Occasionally another photograph catches my attention too. A couple, a gesture, or an ordinary moment may have the same storytelling quality that inspired my Boy Meets Girl collection.
I accept commissions when I see a painting in the photograph.
When Choosing Photographs to Share
Ask yourself:
- What moment do I never want to forget?
- What little detail tells this person's story?
- What photograph makes me stop every time I see it?
- What photograph tells a story without words?
Don't worry about choosing the perfect photograph. Send several that matter to you. Part of my process is looking through them to find the one that makes me see a painting.
The Process
- Share your story and photographs. Tell me a little about the moment and send several photographs you love.
- I'll look for the painting. I'll review the photographs and let you know if I see one that feels like a natural fit for my work.
- We'll choose the size. If we decide to move forward, we'll confirm the photograph, size, price, and timing.
- A 50% deposit reserves your place.
- I paint your original. From there, you trust me to interpret the photograph in the style and colors that drew you to my work.
